Hi all,

I am excited to share this story about an 18 year-old who has come up with a seemingly effective way to decrease gun violence. Will it completely end gun violence? No, but I believe it’s a very good start:

How did I get interested in this? For years I’ve been aware for years that gun violence is a huge problem. But gun violence really hit home in a sobering and tragic way when Richard Martinez, a family friend of my fiancé, lost his son Christopher last year in the Isla Vista Shooting. He says that 88 people die from gun violence every day in the US:

Feel free to add your 2 cents to the discussion – all viewpoints are invited.

Be well,

Clark

Kai’s idea about stopping gun violence by only allowing the owner of the gun to unlock it biometrically is a great idea.  A “smart gun”!  Hopefully it would decrease the use of stolen or otherwise illegally acquired guns which seem to play a big part in gun violence.  I’m sure there are ways to hack the system.  But it’s a start.  Would this replace all “dumb gun” sales?
